A “Just Because” Giveaway!
2012
I love the holiday season. I love my readers. I love giving things away. That’s why I’m excited to do this “just because” giveaway. Just because you are great.
For those of you who follow me on facebook, you had the chance to help pick the prize. And the prize that won the popularity vote is:
A 2 pack of Extra Virgin Organic Coconut Oil
I love coconut oil. I use it A LOT. I think I should invest in some stock options because we spend quite a bit on coconut oil. It’s great for cooking (try expeller pressed if you don’t want a coconut flavor). It’s great to use in many of my homemade beauty products. Really, there are so many uses for coconut oil. (Check out my resource page to find quality coconut products.)
How to enter
Simply enter using the Rafflecopter widget below. There are no mandatory entries. Do whatever you like to improve your odds of winning. Although, you may notice that following me on Google+ and Pinterest are worth even MORE entries… that’s because I’m sick of facebook and would love to entice you to come follow me in other places!
Of course, if you are already a follower on any of these sites or already signed up for my newsletter, just click “ok” and you’ll be good to go.
The giveaway ends Thursday, December 6th at midnight. I’ll announce a winner sometime on Friday, December 7th.
Now go, my friends, and WIN!

The true spirit of giving! We also had a “just because” giveaway, it is so wonderful to give when you can, no holidays attached.
It is unfortunate that my husband does not enjoy the Christmas season at all, and as a result we have not created any traditions thus far. However, when I was a child, Christmas eve would have all 9 kids together, with my dad reading the Christmas story from Luke, and us singing some Christmas hymns. Then, at the end we would each get to pick one present to open.
Since I don’t have any children I guess we really play down Christmas in my household now, and the gifts are only utility gifts, you know, ones we can USE (pressure canner, vacuum, etc). We do have a Christmas tree and stockings hung, and my nativity set out on display, though. (All me, not my husband’s doing).
“Greening” the house (fresh tree, wreaths, garland) – it smells SO good.
We take a walk around the neighborhood on Christmas Eve to admire all of the beautiful decorations.
Oh! I love this idea!
Your blog is by far my favorite thing to look at every day. I’m afraid I have become a bit of an addict/stalker…in a good way.
Thanks for sharing all your knowledge and experience with the rest of us!!
You are so sweet, Karen. Thanks!
My holiday traditions are a bit in flux as a newlywed slowly making the transition from “kid” to “adult”. Time to slow down and connect with family is the best part of the holidays, though!
I’m loving coconut oil! I just made your homemade deodorant recipe a couple weeks ago, and am loving that too.
We don’t really have any traditions other than the meal and getting together with family and friends. The festivities tend to change depending on who we are spending the holiday with and we like to incorporate something for everyone.
I love decorating the house, even better since we have a real fireplace this year!
One of my favorite family traditions is watching the good old yule log burn on television, accompanied, of course, by Christmas tunes, on Christmas Eve. White elephant gifts were always fun, too.
Making anything with cranberries.
We have LOVED reading through the books in the Jotham’s Journey series! This is our third year and we’re just starting on Tabitha’s Travels. I don’t know who is more excited…the kiddos or us parents!
I am new to all of this and have not used the coconut oil yet! Can’t wait to take the plunge. We are going gluten/starch free and coconut anything is always a top subject! Love your site:) Thank you…
baking cookies on xmas eve
we have christmas stories we read each night from dec 1 – dec 24, the 24th being the real story. it’s my favorite tradition we have, and it’s been so fun to share with my own little family now!
holidays are: getting together with family, sending cards to loved ones not often seen, sending gifts to friends new and old.
This is wonderful! Am planning on buying coconut oil to make some homemade items for Christmas gifts.
Would love to win this. . . . .only hope Canadian’s can win!!!
Going to church at midnight Christmas Eve.
Love it — and love coconut oil!
Christmas eve service is my all-time favorite
I have two favorites: Reading the biblical story of Jesus’ birth to my kids & going out to see the lights and the big tree downtown.
I love that this year we are making our own traditions, much more centered around the real reason we celebrate the holidays. Also, I love being around family.
Turning out all the lights in the house except those on the Christmas tree, and sitting silently, soothed by the multi-colored light.
Ah! This was my favorite thing to do as a kid.
I’d love to follow you on Google+ if I could figure out how it works. I signed up for it a long time ago but even after reading all their FAQs and help topics I still can’t figure it out. I do like your blog. Thanks.
My favorite tradition is decorating the Christmas tree and talking about all of the ornaments and the memories attached to them. Thanks for the great giveaway!
The oil sounds amazing….Merry Christmas to you all.
We host a Girl’s Ornament Exchange every year. Cookies, Coffee, Hot Tea and Christmas music. Everyone brings a special ornament wrapped to exchange. It’s so sweet to see the little girls in their Christmas dresses hoping that you’ll pick their ornament. So many precious memories on my tree now!
My favorite tradition is just getting together with family, singing songs, eating good food… So simple.
We have a family tradition of going to Christmas Eve services at our church after a big family gathering.
Baking goodies with my kids, or making a gingerbread house with them.
Hi Robin – did you announce the winner yet?
Yep. The winner is shown on the rafflecopter widget. But don’t worry, there’s another giveaway next week.
